I'll agree with Max. It'll be a blast to fly on this map. Now if someone, anyone, could toss any small bones to us about when the (last) last patch 4.09 will be released...I'll toast your health and drink a beer (or twelve) in your honor! :drinkers:

At this point I don't think anyone has the slightest clew to when 4.09 will come.

Someone released a utility to extract files from the SFS security archives that hold all the game's 3D, Damage and Flightmodel data

An incredable stupid thing to do IMHO. This 'utility' is simply far too dangerous to be handed out. It could kill IL-2 online play, which none of us want to happen.

Oleg has stated 4.09 will deal with this and because it has to be adapted now, 4.09 has been delayed. I would not expect it before the end of this year.

The only positive point is that this 'utility' seems to be in very low demand, so not many players are 'cheating' online. A great indication this community's members are more interested in increasing their flying and dogfighting skills than in flying an undestructable TB3 at mach 6.

So that's what those blistering posts were about on the Ubi-zoo the other week! I read a few posts and it sounded like I'd walked in the middle of a brewing bar-fight so I eased my little lurking behind out the door. :wink:

Truth be told, i've had such little fly time lately that when i do get caught up with my house and work, I'll be like a kid who just found his favorite lost toy.
Plus when my office is in shape and my new PC is up and running I will be interested to give Shockwave's BoB II another try with the latest patches, skins and terrain mods. It sounds like some exciting work from that group and community.

Mike, thanks again for those screenies. The terrain really reminds me of some parts of my old Appalachian Mtns., except for the castle ruins of course.

Thank you very much for keeping us up to date Mike!

It will be a great map to fly over, and keep us busy for weeks to explore I have no doubt.

The Slovakia map team certainly has a LOT of talent. At times the screenshots showed a quality I would not have expected to see before BoB.

A stunning piece of work.
