I'm trying this again in Vista this time...So far it wont work for me in MSN nor BF2.

Actually thats not totally true.

Vac says back the command that I give the Vac just wont complete what I would like it to do

What am I not doing right to make this not execute any commands.
Vac and profile are on , just like
I said I hear the commands being repeated back to me it's just not carried out by the game nor MSN

Thanks Gumby

Hi Gumby,

You can't get VAC to work or you can't get the profile to work in BF2?

Does it matter that I haven't paid for it yet? This might be my problem maybe?

I can't get it to work in anything, I even tried it in notepad to see if I could just get it to do something.

I have Vista Ultimate 32, if this helps.

It will say the command i want performed,but it will not execute it.

I also noticed that the keyboard tester does not function for me either when I say the the word I hear the command said to me,but no light on the keyboard tester lights up for me. (yes I have it activated as well).

Only thing I can think is that this will not work with my G-15 keyboard.

As far as I can tell I've done things right,but I'm not sure whats wrong,and I'm hoping you or someone could help me.

I like this program,but I simply can't get it to work.

Very much looking forward to your or anyone else's replies.
Thank you for responding.

Hi Gumby,

VAC is fully functional for 30 days and you'll get support during that time also. I want you to try it out for the full 30 days, so let's get it working!

I have an idea what the problem is. If you are using a downloaded profile for BF2 then most likely the PTA (Push To Activate) key is set in that profile. If it is, set it to none and save the profile, then re-load the profile in VAC System and try it again.

It should not matter at all what keyboard you are using, in fact VAC will work without a keyboard.

Actuall no I just tried to make a profile for myself with just a couple of basic things to get started. I never downloaded a profile.
Here's a copy paste of my xml I really don't know what some of it means.

<?xml version="1.0" ?>
- <profile>
- <!-- Battlefield 2 command Set
-->
- <command name="Parachute" phrase="Parachute" sndok="E:\GumbyVista\VAC voiceactivating\sounds\Parachute.wav" sndok1="E:\GumbyVista\VAC voiceactivating\sounds\Parachute.wav">
<key value="nine" extended="NONE" pause="125" repeat="" duration="1" />
</command>
- <command name="Exit" phrase="Exit" successphrase="" sndok="E:\GumbyVista\VAC voiceactivating\sounds\Exit Vehical.wav">
<key value="e" extended="NONE" qual="SHIFT" pause="100" repeat="" duration="1" />
</command>
- <command name="Go prone" phrase="Go prone" successphrase="" sndok="E:\GumbyVista\VAC voiceactivating\sounds\Go prone.wav">
<key extended="ENTER" pause="1" repeat="" duration="" />
</command>
- <!-- Voice Activation Command Set
-->
<set key="NONE" key1="NONE" vackey1="NONE" vackey2="NONE" ptamode="default" off="NONE" off1="NONE" off2="NONE" off3="NONE" />
</profile>

Shift_E thanks for helping me and it looks like a excellent program.
Could something have gotten buggered up when I installed it? Would you recommend I try to reinstall it?

Hi Gumby,

No, a reinstall would be a waste of time.

It sounds like VAC is recognizing the phrases fine. When you speak the phrase and VAC executes the success phrase, then it should work.

Just to make sure, there are two programs with VAC. The VAC Builder creates and maintains the profiles. The VAC System is the main program which will use the profile created using the Builder.

Your profile looks good. Let's use the 'Parachute' action in a test. Start the VAC System, right-click the microphone icon in the system tray and load your profile, you should see a blue 'P' next to the microphone icon. Right-click again on the icon and select 'VAC on', you should on see a green 'O' next to the icon. Open Notepad and make sure the window is active and speak the phrase 'Parachute'.

Let me know what happens.

Hi Shift_E

Hey I got it working somehow he he.

Before you posted your last remarks I uninstalled it already. I did this this morning, but you responded and I thought I would give it one more shot.

I did what you told me only I had to make all new profiles and commands,because I deleted the folder the uninstall left behind.

I tried every thing out in note pad first and all of them worked, so then i began to build the same ones for BF2, because thats what I really want them for.

I just got finished checking out 3 commands in BF2 and all of them worked.

All I can figure is this (the reason it didn't work first time)
When I unziped the file I simply clicked the exe to install.

But this time I right clicked on the exe to install as an administrator.
All I know is this worked.

Because you know how to make this, I'm sure you'll have a better understanding of what I'm trying to say.

So with that said I think I'm good to go. Now I just need to see what al this can do.

I do however have one question.
How could I edit the program set up to allow my target line for bf2.
the way it looks now it says
" Path=E:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\ "

I'd like it to say this...
" "E:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +playNow +menu 1 +fullscreen 1+szx 1280 +szy 1024 +restart +playerName xxxxxxxxxxxx +playerPassword xxxxxxxx "

I tried this in the apps ini file ,but there it wouldn't let me. I would just like to avoid watching the splash intro and typing in my password all the time. If there is no other way I'll just deal with it.

Thanks for your help Shift_E
Now this program is even looking better.

Hi Gumby,

Good job! A long time ago I found out you should always unzip the install file to your hard drive before installing, because the install file is in a compress form. I just thought everyone thought like me. I’m glad you didn’t listen to my bad advice. :P

I use a batch file to launch a program with parameters and it’s all about the quotation marks. If you can launch the program using a batch file, you can then use the batch file in VAC in the program setup.

Give 'em heck, :smt023
