Postby Joachim on Wed May 23, 2007 2:44 am

Right clicking on systems tray icon (Microphone) does not show the popup run options as show in help file "The VAC System".
How do I turn on the VAC system?

I have made a copy of this post in the VAC forum. I think Shift_E will find it quicker there ;)

Hi Joachim,

Thanks Max.

What version of Windows are you running? When you right-click on the VAC System icon in the system tray, what does show?

Hi Joachim,

The Language bar is part of MS Office and not part of VAC. VAC consists of two programs, The VAC Builder which create and maintains the profiles. The VAC System is a small program that will run with the VAC profile.

VAC System is started from the Programs menu on the Windows Start button. If you did a full install look over the Quick Start Guide to get you started.

Shift_e.
I realize and knew the "Language Bar" not being part of the VAC system.
It was stated to show that according to VAC help "Getting started with the VAC System" the help page "The VAC System" the quoted action does not happen.

B U T you must have chased my gremlins away as I now do get the popup. I am stilll not working OK but it is a start.
Appreciate any help this old 82 plus man can get.

Not working OK yet is correct.
Using just the phrase "Vector home" for BoB2, while ok in testing within VAC although my German accent shows it to be "Fector home" , gets me a FPS readout, a mashine gun burst or two and the aircraft is turning toward home base.
That's a bit too much but it is a start and more testing to come.
Ps. I use a one ear head set with mike and a TIR clip attached and did the mike speech test/training.
All settings in VAC on NONE.
Question:
VAC states that CONTROL is spelled CTRL but BoB2 uses CTL so how is it to be used. I tend to believe it is to be the BoB2 way as CTL.

Finally figgured out how to use the program and now my BoB2 WoV profile is working as it should.
Still have a bit of delays and am working on that part.
Am making as always my own (dummy) instructions as the help file, as all manuals I have encountered in my
30 plus computer years, are not logically stating the process.
Thanks for a good, VAC, program.
