"Radeon 9800 Pro owners can get a dll to install in the PF directory (or IL-2 depending on install) which adds some of the water effects that NVIDIA players enjoy. It doesn’t look quite as good but is passable and enjoyable. "

So where is this DLL? I haven't heard of it before.

Anyone got a link?

I think they mean an alternate OpenGL dll - Don't know for sure but it seems it runs faster and with better graphics somehow...

I've uploaded it to my site - try
http://members.home.nl/maxmhz/atioglxx.dll

Don't know anymore where I got it from - it was in GD @ UBI a while back

Installing Sun's Java Runtime instead of the M$ one will also improve game performance ;)

Cheers m8.

Actually I have a wide selection of atioglxx.dlls myself.

I didn't include the entire quote before so I've editted my original post. It's specifically related to the new water=3 effects I think.

Yes it is...

When the sun is low you get a lot of pixelation... the alternate dll fixes that for 99%

On nVidea cards you can just set "Image settings" to Quality to achieve the same :D

It's the OpenGL dll file from the Catalyst 4.7 version. This was a work around that hasn't been needed since the 4.11 drivers came out. In fact, I get better performance with Cat 4.12 than with this work-around.

Cheers guys. Seems to me that the reviewer got a little confused.
