Success sound

Postby Lollypop on Sun Feb 13, 2005 7:17 pm

Hello again Shit_E!

in order to be sure to switch between 2 profiles, i use the "success sound" with the actions which call it.
The sound plays fine when i test with vac builder but i have no response neither in the keyboard tester nor in PF.

Any idea?

(I wait you "on" my window Mister E!)

In version 1.3.5 I had forgot to add the play sound in the VAC System plus a few other items. 1.3.6 has that corrected. :)

It's more than likely my fault maybe I thought it was fixed in 1.3.6.:) I'll be updating to 1.3.8 tonight. It has two key fixes a builder fix and a builder feature. Before I upload the newer version I'll double check on the sound, sorry about that.

As I was testing 1.3.7 I found a small problem and had to recompile. I was very close to releasing, but didn't. :)

"Ho que si !!" (french in the text)

If only we (froggies) could have a french recog...

Today, i use a "syllabic" method" so that i can speak a mild english/frenh.

But i think it's the Micro$$$'s job. So we can just wait. and Dream about.

Yes, it would be Microsoft's job to make a French language file for SAPI. Who knows maybe they will. :D

Version 1.3.8 is ready to download. I checked the success sound when triggering profiles, it will play them now.

Being French are you having good results with VAC?

As i explained above, i 'm forced to use a syllabic method so that vac (and SR5.1 especially) understand what i "really" mean. (I usually writes some syllabs-made-words which are a compromise between what-i-want-to-say and ...What-is-understood)
Now, i test the vac'ability to switch on 2 profiles. It allows to avoid some probs of "recognisation" (good term?). I especially have difficulties with the words beginning with the "A" syllab". Accentuation matter. ( for it, i write "HA": in F, it sounds like "I" ...and it works!)
But the whole business tends to be a compromise between english and french terms. Finally the longest words are often more easy to use than the shortest which makes "troubles". I suppose it deals with the settings i tuned, slightly on low level for the sensitivity and quasi-totally on left side for accuracy...
I noticed too, that results are sensitive to the used quality micro. It can make difference.
If you have any advice on this...: "J'ai les yeux et les oreilles grandes ouvertes"

Despite all of this, results "sounds" great, and it's all all about fun to be able to give wingman orders using radio! (And get the good result, above all !!!) I use vac so to control track ir and some tricks like zoom, map and views too.

Lollypop.

Ok I have yet to install the newest version but am downloading now but here is what I found out last night after some more playing.

The sounds work when you speak a command, but you need to set each command to use sound seperatly (enableing sound only enables it to the command you are currenty testing not all commands at once).
As for the "on/off" sound I found that I set the key command to turn VAC on and off was already assigned for something else, after assigning it to a keystroke that wasn't being used it will now play a sound each time. So it appears user error once again! LOL

I'm currently running Voice rec version 5, does VAC work better with the 5.1 version that you include with the download? I have the full install but will wait and see if I experiance any other troubles before installing 5.1.
VAC is great and I only get a few "misunderstandings", such as if I cough my Bombdier will report in, LOL!!! Just a little more fiddling with the properties and all will be good! ;)
