Okay, so I'm a noob. (I bet I will always be a noob no matter how long I do this.) How can I get these incredible maps? Will it be added to a later version of IL2 or is it a seperate package I can download and hook in to my IL2 somehow?

AFAIK the Slovakia map and (not sure) Norway and a New Desert map, and the Fokker DXXI will be included in the next patch 4.08 coming soon. Probably a free download from http://patches.ubi.com (and maybe M4T/Airwarfare)
Normally it's a self-extracting archive that unzips to your game folder overwriting/adding files. After that a game start should show 4.08m

It looks like the 4.08 patch is for 46 according to the IL2 website. I looked throught that patch's readme and there isn't any mention of the slovakia maps in it.
Will the patch with these lovely mountains be available for non-46'ers? Thanks.

Unfortunately you have to have 1946 for the 4.08 patch. It’s the way it’s been with this line of the sim. Each patch needs to be applied to the latest version of the game.
As for the Slovakia map, perhaps there is a 4.09 patch coming out.
