Need help cfs1 stops in win xp during addon camps

When I install an addon camp for cfs1 it will go okay for 2 or 3 missions of the camp and the it just freezes and says send error report to microsoft. Is there a fix program or can someone plzzzzz tell me if I can alter the cmg or mis files with notepad to get these damn camps to play without freezing. Also I have direct x 9.0c on this machine how can I get 8.0 version on it maybe that is the problem pllzzzz HELP!!! email me at flightplan@earthlink.net
