One of the first of World War 2 pilot autobiographies , it was produced from the authors war diaries, recorded during his time serving in the RAF during the Battle of France.
It is beautifully written , with a wonderful style and ease. His story covers the men and the combat and the locale in a frank and honest account of the short time he served in France; during which he baled out 3 times and ended up seriously injured.
A vivid account of the efforts exerted and the weariness caused by fighter operations.
