Here is an autobiography of a Japanese fighter pilot. He flew more than 200 missions and never lost a wingman. He vividly brings to life the war in the pacific, the battles , the men and the conditions they endured. It is a very descriptive book with some of the best details of air combat I have read. Like many accounts I have read he is modest about his own abilities but his skill was undoubted. He flew with many of the other leading Japanese aces and gives details about them and their lives. His story is not just about himself but the decline of the Japanese through the war and the losses they suffered.
A very well written and thoughtful book.
