AC detail

Postby Fiend on Mon Dec 13, 2004 3:47 pm

I'm expecting based on what I've read that BoB will include much more detail in individual AC systems. Like a 'study' sim which focuses on even the smallest nuance of each AC.

I enjoy the wide variety of AC in FB, but it would be nice to have manual startup procedures, non-generic CEM, and the ability to fuss and fiddle w/ all the switches and toggles just as a real pilot would.

Is this a realistic expectation?

Well, I, uh, don't think it's quite fair to condemn a whole program because of a single slip-up, sir.

For me, yes I hope to see these additions too. I know that some who are not fans of "switchology" but a each aircrafts character extends also into the panel controls and finer workings.

In FS2004, the stock DC3 with some mods is really a great pleasure to fly IMO. The engine management and fuel tank balance process is a great part of the enjoyment for me. I'd like these to see how these kind of details would work into a combat environment.

EDIT: Oh, and I'd like to see planes that need to adjust mix with altitude modeled. This would add a very interesting dynamic to dogfights.

Some realistic cloud cover.

So you can have almost white weather.

In EAW you had that kind of things.

Hope BOB has them too.

Oleg has all but said that weather will surprise us, and pleasantly

I'm reading "Duel of Eagles" right now, and the prospect of flying in that weather...makes finding the enemy, much less shooting him down, an accomplishment

Very much looking forward to BoB. A clean slate, lessons learned from FB, and a focused planeset to start. Seems like a good beginning to me

I'm hoping that the code will be able to use the new PPUs that will be out shortly.
