The basic technique

To switch off FPS Display open the console and type 'fps SHOW STOP'
Press SHIFT+TAB again to close console.
Using a shortcut
These commands can be made easier to remember/type by editing the RCU file.
Locate RCU file in user\Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\ and open in notepad.
at the bottom add following lines of text:
@a fpson fps SHOW START
@a fpsoff fps HIDE STOP
Save the file.
Now when you wish to check your frame count open the console and type the red text to toggle the FPS readout.
If you want the FPS display to be on automatically whenever you start the game just add the command fpson to the bottom of the RCU file and save.
