got runtime error

Postby sc1949 on Fri Mar 04, 2005 11:01 am

Hi Mate, I tried to start QMT and got a "runtime error 430" - "Class does not support automation or does not support expected interface".

I had latest version I thought, downloading 1.8.8 at the moment to see if it was a bad D/L. Any idea what this is? Thanks in advance

I do know what is causing the error. Try uninstalling from the Control Panel Add/Remove programs, then reinstall.

If that doesn't fix the problem then we'll try a different method of registering the "dll" QMT is needing.

Just tried with Add/Remove, and guess what! It's not listed. I'll install the new version in the morning (it's 12.30 AM here), and i]I'll get back to you. Thanks Shift_E

Sorry, I mis-read your first post. Version 1.8.8 when installed will be added to the Add/Remove Programs. Installing version 1.8.8 should fix the error 430. :)

Now its VAC

Postby sc1949 on Sat Mar 05, 2005 2:35 am

After last nights message about QMT, I deleted it, then reinstalled with 1.8.8, and that worked fine. Just now I was going for a fly, hit my VAC (which was working perfectly yesterday), and got the same message for it IE "runtime error 430" "class does not support automation or does not support expected interface".

What is going on? I suppose I could reinstall that, too, but you said you probably knew what was causing this.

What do you suggest? Also VAC is not showing in Add/Remove either, As QMT wasn't last night, but is now.

Thanks Shift_E for your help, and also your wonderful programs.

Both QMT and VAC share the same utility dll, I had updated both programs because I updated the dll. Since you are on version 1.8.8 of QMT it means you are on a version lower than 1.5.0 on VAC.

If you don't want to upgrade VAC, you'll have to fall back to an early version of QMT.

Sorry about that,
